My cat has commitment issues

I have spent a large part of the day watching the evolving and repetitive courtship of my cat and a certain visiting tomcat, who I assume by now is starved, exhausted and wishing not to be in the thrall of mating instinct.

He has been stationed outside our house patiently waiting and watching for 3 full days now. He can’t get into the house, so contends himself with watching through windows, doors, and the cat flat. Our cat, has been doing some staring herself - in between licking her nether regions in a provocative manner and rolling around on her back. She seems especially keen to show off her beautiful stomach. Presumably, it is this sight that has robbed the tomcat of his need to eat.

Several times a day, my dear Maine-Coon braves the cold to roll around on her back and lick herself in front of him - outside. By now, he has mostly learned to simply watch. Yet, invariably after a prolonged period of staring, he will attempt to jump on her. At which point she invariably bites and fight him off. He runs away to a safe distance. The licking and provocative rolling continues.

Stalemate? A weird cat courtship ritual? I don’t know. Perhaps our kitty has been learning from people and is training her potential mate to be patient. Perhaps this is a game to peak their interest. Perhaps her body says yes, but her heart say no? I even tried discussing my cat’s potential commitment issues with her, but to no avail.

Not sure what further support I can provide. Selfishly, I’m mostly thinking of more potential kittens:
